When the article said to write about what you care about, I immediately started to think about things I love: dance, God, my friends, my family, and other hobbies.

As I'm writing my personal essay, I need to remember to write what I'm passionate about, and maintain that fire and opinion throughout so that the reader stays interested.

Even though you're writing about something personal and individual, you have to remember to connect the theme to a real world issue so that many people can connect and identify with your essay.
